What happens to your documents

Sending a birth certificate is not a trivial act. Here is exactly what happens to it afterwards.

The short version

Three formats

PDF, JPG and PNG are accepted, up to 50 MB per file. Anything else is refused before it goes anywhere.

Private storage

Files sit in private storage. There is no public link pointing at your document.

Time-limited access

Whoever needs to see your file opens it through a link that expires, not through a permanent address.

Scheduled cleanup

Removed files enter a cleanup queue and are then erased from storage.

Why you have to send something at all

CertiDocs displays a fixed price for each document type, with all pages included. The professional must review the document to check legibility, languages and a feasible deadline.

The form therefore asks for the complete document. Its length does not change the fixed price. If the selected document type is incorrect, a new request at the correct rate is required before payment.

Who gets to see it

Your request is routed to sworn translators who cover the language pair you asked for. They see what they need in order to make an offer, and nothing beyond that.

Sworn translators in Belgium are listed in the national register held by the FPS Justice and are bound by professional secrecy. That is not a promise we make: it comes with their status.

What does not happen

Your documents are not sold, not passed to third parties outside the handling of your request, and not used to train or feed anything else.

There is also no public link. A file in private storage cannot be reached by guessing or sharing an address.
